Come to the Table

11/13/25

Will you accept His invitation today?

We are in a sweet season as The Church around the globe. I believe the Lord is inviting us to His table to receive from Him. The Bread of Life. The Living Water. Jesus is the Bread of Life (John 6:35) and is willing to fulfill our souls. The Holy Spirit is the Living Water (John 7:37-39) and is available to refresh our souls.

The Lord has always invited people to His table but there are chapters and timelines within His larger story. And each hour of His timeline comes with an opportunity to fulfill His purposes in it. And the biggest opportunity in this hour is to enter into His presence, to sit at His table, and receive from Him. And once we receive, we have the privilege of giving it to others and inviting them to sit as His table to receive as well.

Ask for the Bread of Life to fulfill you.

Ask for the Living Water to refresh you.

Then give out portions of the Bread and Water to the hungry and thirsty souls around you….and wherever He calls you to go. And invite them to receive at His table.

Blessings, Dave Smucker

John 7:37-39 (ESV)
37 On the last day of the feast, the great day, Jesus stood up and cried out, “If anyone thirsts, let him come to me and drink. 38 Whoever believes in me, as the Scripture has said, ‘Out of his heart will flow rivers of living water.’” 39 Now this he said about the Spirit, whom those who believed in him were to receive, for as yet the Spirit had not been given, because Jesus was not yet glorified.

Invitation to the Harvest

10/16/2025

Introduction
When we experience change, disruption, upheaval and movement, a common response is to try and find a way to get back to where we were. With the events of this hour, I want to encourage us to press onward during this time of massive change, disruption, upheaval, and movement and into the greater purpose of this hour.

This is a summary of what has emerged from my “spiritual radar” in this hour upon the earth as I’ve observed, listened, prayed, discerned, and engaged throughout this year. I share it with the understanding that it is based upon my limited perspective and from a 50k foot view with much left unsaid and lots of room for nuance.

I invite you to read it in hopes that it is beneficial and perhaps helps you gain further understanding of the hour we are in as the Church. You may need to lay aside your personal preferences, emotions, political views, and worldviews to receive value from this. And be willing to view things from a higher elevation for a bit.

Historical Context
As a society, the last era of upheaval that is similar was the 1960’s which was 60 years ago. In that era, the Cold War was a constant threat and loomed large; with occasional events that would heighten the threat and elevate concerns even more. The Vietnam War was an ongoing slog and a travesty for humanity.

The civil rights movement was in full swing and the tension of the racial divide was thick. The assassinations of JFK, RFK, MLK, and Malcom X further exposed the depravity of humankind and added to the chaos, polarization, and unsettledness of society in our nation and around the globe.

And in the Lancaster region, it was the last major disruption among the conservative Anabaptists. The “spaltung” or “divide” or “splitting” among the Amish began with a hunger and thirst for a spiritual awakening but affected individual people, families, and relationships greatly as it unfolded and sorted out. And people, families, and new churches found their place in God’s family and story.

What followed was found in both secular and Kingdom movements. The 1970’s ushered in humankinds attempts at liberation known as the hippie movement. And the Jesus Movement that began on the West Coast swept through our nation bringing a wave of salvations, a move of the Holy Spirit, and fresh life to the Church. The zeal of our spiritual grandfathers and fathers in this hour was birthed in that wave.

The similarities of events and society these past few years and current hour with the ’60s are striking. The ongoing global conflicts. The polarization in our nation. Another wave of disruption among the conservative Anabaptists and especially the Amish. Amid it all, I see both the secular and Kingdom movements beginning to emerge. I believe the Kingdom movement and expansion will surpass any in our past by a wide margin. The Lord is zealous for righteousness and a vibrant Bride. And will fulfill His story in His timing.

Current Hour – Global
The global landscape is shifting rapidly and in broad swaths. Both in the natural/humankind and supernatural/Church perspectives. I’ll focus on the Church perspective.

There are two common themes that emerge as I’ve connected with leaders in our relational network the past year. This includes other network leaders that have far more extensive relational networks and established church networks. And leaders of established regional training hubs.

The first is that it is evident that God is sovereignly moving and accomplishing His purposes in this hour. There seems to be an acceleration of fulfillment and revelation of it. The second is that there is a magnitude of spiritual hunger and thirst among young people they have never seen before. They long for the simplicity of the Gospel and expression of it.

Perhaps the biggest indicator that a global move of God is underway is the spiritual awakening that is beginning to emerge in Europe. The continent that birthed the Reformation and was largely written off as post-Christian with a cold spiritual climate for the past couple decades is awakening!

My sense is we have entered an hour of unprecedented harvest around the globe.

Current Hour – National
I must preface this segment with saying that I am NOT a nationalist! His Kingdom purposes and sovereignty surpasses any nation, people group, and society. However, I do believe the hand of God is evident in the founding of our nation. And I don’t believe His purposes for it have been entirely fulfilled. A return to righteousness was essential though and I believe is underway.

The polarization, upheaval, and current events the past couple years have increased my search and appreciation for bearing to stay on course amid it all. A few prophecies from Kim Clement have been very helpful. He was a known prophet but his most significant prophecies have often taken 20 +/- years to come to fulfillment. When delivered, they often sounded confusing, disjointed, and irrelevant. But given time, they accurately revealed future events of the magnitude of 9/11 for example.

For me, the first one that was helpful emerged within an hour of the 1st assassination attempt of Trump. He spoke of a death in May, an assassination attempt on a prophetic leader that would serve our nation, and a second death. My sense is the death in May was the Iranian president who had completely blasphemed God and was killed in a helicopter crash on 5/19/24. The assassination attempt on Trump 7/13/24 was the next piece to unfold. And the assassination of Charlie Kirk on 9/10/25 is likely the 3rd. You can access that prophecy here for more context.

Based upon that prophecy being fulfilled, could it be that Donald Trump was set in place as a prophetic leader of our nation for this hour? Being of prophetic nature would certainly help explain his direct, disruptive, and abrasive views and communication style. There is something significant about J.D. Vance being paired with Trump as well. My sense is he has more of a priestly role to bring healing and perhaps implement key pieces of the prophetic direction.

The 2nd Kim Clement prophecy emerged in the last couple weeks and is his prophecy of an “Esther” being set in place for our nation. It describes Erika Kirk with astounding accuracy. The explosion of Turning Point chapter requests since Charlie’s death is another remarkable story. Perhaps more will be accomplished through his death than anything that could have been through a longer life.

At this time, I want to remind us to not rely on government systems and leaders to accomplish what is the Churches role. Yet, the effects of a righteous government and society are evident throughout the bible. Regardless of our political views, we must remain fully engaged in seeing righteousness restored and stewarding the resources entrusted to us for Kingdom advancement.

Current Hour – Regional
There are many significant pieces that are visible or emerging. Including a movement among youth, in schools, vibrant local churches emerging/birthed/catalyzing, missional networks, new school systems, and another massive disruption and awakening among the Amish. I’ll share more historical context as I believe it reveals a cycle with another wave underway.

In the 1950’s, a fresh move of the Holy Spirit was evident in the region. It is often referred to as the Brunk Revivals or Lancaster Revival. It began in the Morgantown area and impacted many. The most cohesive writing I’ve found on it so far can be accessed here. There are likely sources with more context and perhaps with a broader perspective but the details aren’t the focus for what I’m sharing. From my understanding, Creation Fest was birthed out of this and was held annually until 2023.

In the 1970’s, the Holy Spirit swept through the region again and impacted another generation. While certainly broader than just these, there were four major ministry/church streams birthed and established. Worship Center, Dove International, Petra Church, and Ephrata Community Church. The outworking of what the Spirit released in that season continued for decades and is ongoing. The broader context of the 70’s was the Jesus Movement which is 50 years ago. The spiritual grandfathers and fathers of our day were called forth in this era.

In the 1990’s, another wave swept through. Among this wave, the four major streams mentioned from the 70’s established or revamped global network ministries. The most common reference to a new stream I’ve heard is Tuesday Night Bible Study. It was a youth movement that grew to over 1k attending weekly but one that had far broader impact and influence that is impossible to equate humanly. The sudden death of Diana Sharp was a flashpoint for that particular expression. You can learn more about her here; the photos include her obituary. Interestingly, she was buried at Ridgeview Mennonite Church which was one of the locations TBS was held on its growth journey. Once again, I share an article simply because it’s convenient; this one sheds some light on TBS.

In the 2000’s, there were a number of things emerging and having significant impact. An example is The Living Room which was another move among young adults. There was authentic hunger for the Lord and community that drew 500-600 people weekly, around 1,500 for special events, and thousands impacted with typical youth turnover during the course of 7+ years. Reflecting on this era doesn’t seem as much of a fresh wave as simply many in that generation of youth finding their place in His story. And an ongoing faithfulness among many people, ministries, and church expressions in the region to keep sowing seeds for a great harvest.

Currently, there is much evidence of a fresh wave of the Holy Spirit and a move of God among us. The upheaval among the Amish is unprecedented; with the 60’s “spaltung” being the only era somewhat comparable but with a much smaller population at that time. Amid the upheaval, there is a refinement of faith that is evident and beautiful to witness. Some of the new pieces emerging are many churches, a school system, and a young generation full of zeal and passion. My sense is many from this consecrated people group will be launched to the nations as a gospel witness.

To be clear, I believe this fresh wave is a global outpouring and will impact every people group in all the nations. I simply mention the Amish as they are in our midst and often “hidden”. I’m not going to attempt to clarify this fresh wave in our region any further as sharing expressions, ministries, names, and details would inadvertently leave someone or something significant out of the picture. Perhaps many that have yet to emerge.

In Closing
The polarization of society should not come as a surprise. There is a Kingdom of light and a kingdom of darkness. Those of us in the western world had gotten used to a more neutral position that allowed us to be complacent, comfortable, and seemingly above the fray. Most of the Church around the globe hasn’t had that luxury and is often better for it. There is beauty in the purification of the Church and a vibrant bride is a sight to behold!

My sense is we are positioned for an hour of unprecedented harvest across the globe. A Harvest Revival. The Bride fully awakened to Her destiny and fully engaged in preparation for the return of the Bridegroom. Fully consecrated to Her first love. Eagerly preparing Her heart. Embracing the purification. Clothed in righteousness. Inviting others to sit at the Lords table for the marriage supper. And walking in Oneness of Spirit until the trumpet blast that signifies the Bridegroom has come.

Invitation to the Harvest
There is favor and the blessing of the Lord on communion and baptism in this hour. He is inviting us to come to His table and receive from Him. The Bread of Life and Living Water. He provides whatever we need. Salvation. Healing. Wholeness. New life. The Word. The Spirit. A missional call. There is more available for you!

I invite you to participate. To position yourself before the Lord. To come to His table and receive from Him. And pray…..to agree with heaven for the Lords plans and purposes for this hour to be fulfilled. And inquire of Him what your role is in this hour of His story. And regardless if you sense you receive clarity from Him; to say “yes” to what He is calling you to, to ask the Holy Spirit to empower you to accomplish it, and simply follow Jesus every moment of every day. He is exceedingly faithful and will sustain you in it.

Wishing you the fullness of God’s blessing as you continue your journey.

Psalm 27:4 (ESV)
One thing have I asked of the Lord,
    that will I seek after:
that I may dwell in the house of the Lord
all the days of my life,
to gaze upon the beauty of the Lord
and to inquire in his temple.
